Our
relationship with Tatung Company, a large conglomerate founded
in 1918, dates back to the early 1980's. When Eastern Europe
opened to the west in the late 1980's, we were given a contract
by Tatung to help them capitalize on these new opportunities. As
a result, we helped Tatung secure a new partner company in
Hungary resulting in a joint venture arrangement.

As a product of
our efforts, Tatung gained a better understanding of the
opportunities in Eastern Europe and also decided to open a
procurement office in Hungary.
The Tatung boy mascot shown at right was created in 1969 by
the late Dr. T.S.Lin, then President of Tatung. Intended to embody the company
philosophy with a coin slot at top to permit the "saving of a
dollar every day" and oversize head to show the importance of
brainstorming and execution, big eyes to be able to observe
customer behavior, a rugby ball under arm to cultivate the
teamwork of rugby players who persistently strive to reach a
goal and finally the big feet to show Tatung's role as the
pioneer in industry always acting proactively with vigor,
devotion and honesty.
CECA's Chairman Emeritus was presented with a Tatung Boy by
President W. S. Lin, now Chairman of Tatung, in 1989 during one
of his many visits to Tatung Headquarters on behalf of Videoton
Vallalat Hungary. |
